Daniel de los Reyes and his seven piece LA SENSACION band pays tribute to his Cuban heritage and treats listeners and dancers alike to the authentic nostalgic Cuban music from the 50's that ushered in a glorious future for this genre.
Daniel's popular LA SENSACION band includes two percussionists, piano, bass, trumpet, sax, and vocals. Together band members appeal to music audiences of all ages as they perform intoxicating and timeless rhythms such as mambos, rumbas, salsa, and cha-cha-chas from Cuban's Golden Era, the 1950's.

DE LOS REYES FAMILY HISTORY
Daniel de los Reyes, a third generation de los Reyes musician and one of the most sought after percussionists in the world today, pays tribute to his Latin roots and Cuban heritage with his popular LA SENSACION seven piece band.
With the desire to embrace his family’s musical legacy, Daniel has blended musical traditions from the past and preserves and honors them in the present by duplicating the Sound, the Look, and the Feel of the era taking audience members back in time to experience the Epoca de Oro (Golden Age) of Cuba.

Daniel’s grandfather, Walfredo de los Reyes II, was born in Cuba in 1910. A trumpet player and singer, he was one of the founding members of the highly successful Cuban orchestra Casino de la Playa in the 1940s and 50s.

| Daniel’s father, Walfredo de los Reyes III, is one of Cuba’s most influential and innovative musicians today. Along with performing and recording with all the greats of the era, Walfredo III is credited with producing two of Cuba’s most influential albums of the 50’s: CUBAN JAZZ and CUBAN JAM SESSION I (see below along with additional albums featuring Walfredo de los Reyes III). |
